MRN's Founder Shel Lyons' Mothers' Rights Web Blog
MRN Founding President Shel Lyons comments on daily news, combatting myths on mothers' rights. Did you know that a single mother earns 60% of every $1 that a man with the same skills and job? Did you know that hospitals have a 35% c-section rate in the U.S. when the rate in most of Europe is below 10%? Did you know that circumcision is no longer considered humane (or Jewish)? Did you know that a doctor earns $500 extra per circumcision and $5000 extra per c-section? Did you know that the U.S. does not guarantee a single day paid maternity leave? Learn more here.

Moms Rising: Motherhood Manifesto
WORKPLACE PROTECTIONS: Northern California, Publications & Policy Group
Moms Rising focuses on some of the same issues as the Mothers Rights Network, including flexible schedules, longer maternity leaves, and healthcare, but in addition, Moms Rising includes holiday cards, marriage advice, and different types of projects, including the very sucessful film and book by the same name: Motherhood Manifesto. Moms Rising has a blog with a variety of contributors, addressing every topic related to parents from Father's Day ideas to lead poisoning in toys. However, Moms Rising is based in California and does not take legal cases. In addition, it does not focus on the other two core areas of the Mothers Rights Network, specifically product safety and medical policies. While the two organizations share a concern for workplace protections for nursing and pregnant mothers, MRN has a special legal focus as a members organization with clinical cases, advocacy work, and legal publications.

Family & Home Network
STAY-AT-HOME MOTHERS: Merrifield Virginia, Publications Group
Family and Home Network is a grassroots organization that offers publications, including its website, for information on families. Included on the site is a list of links organized by topic, including birth, adoption, child development, marriage, support for parents, budget living, cultural influences, working at home, television and media influences, loss of a child, legislation and public policy, postpartum depression, health and safety, and education and homeschooling. Family and Home Network is located in Merrifield, Virginia, and focuses on stay-at-home mothers. It does not do work related to restrictive insurance and hospital policies (including healthcare for children and policies that are leading to our rising c-section rates), product safety (such as lead and chlorine levels in the DC public water supply and lead posioning in toys) or workplace protections (time and space for breast milk pumping, longer and paid maternity leaves, and flexible schedules). Instead, Family and Home Network focuses on rights for at-home mothers including tax benefits and other policies.

The links are quite extensive and a bit disorganized, but if you cannot find information elsewhere, this site offers a good starting place before general online searches.
